Our morning started at 8:30am. This is an annually event put on by the Mountain View Police Department and Mountain View Public Safety Foundation. It brings 100's of local volunteers to help pack and distribute baskets to those in need. Over 400 baskets packed with love and food were distributed the weekend before Thanksgiving. The basket included dry goods, a gift card and fluffy cute stuffed animals for the little ones to enjoy.
Seeing the community come together is heartwarming. I love to see our officers and civilians gather in unity with the same goal in mind, help others. Once the baskets were filled, the drivers selected delivered them to local in need residents and homeless families. With so many helping hands we were able to wrap this up within a couple of hours. This day showed that working together creates environment of gratitude.
When our family has the opportunity to give back, we do. I love to volunteer together. Serving others in any form shows human kindness. Community matters, people matter, we all matter.
