Creating Special Moments With Those We Love
On May 6th, 2023 we had over 110 attendees from our law enforcement community attend the Law Enforcement Family Day at the Ranch, held in Gilroy, CA. Words can’t describe the feels that were created and shared that day. This special day was all about fun, family, friends, food, and new experiences. We teamed up with Dreampower Horsemanship, a therapeutic equestrian ranch, to help bring back a well-loved event.
Our nonprofit believes that family time is precious, should be cherished, and not taken for granted. We saw the importance of sponsoring this event knowing that it would inspire our blue families to spend time with their loved ones and provide the opportunity to have them interact in a positive environment. We had an array of agencies from northern California gather with their families for some outdoor fun. Family-friendly ranch activities were available such as horseback riding, ranch roping lessons, a ranch craft project, face painting, ax throwing, corn hole, and leading miniature horses.
The blessing was seeing families together. The smiling faces confirmed that this was exactly what our blue families needed. The smell of BBQ lingered through the ranch reassuring us that lunch was going to taste great. The cherry on top was the live-string band playing in the background providing an atmosphere of good vibes and good times. This day, was a good day!
There is healing and hope for the entire family when they attend an event like this
The demands of the job can weigh heavily on the officer. And without intention, the burden is transferred to the home and family. Events like these confirm that we as a nonprofit must continue to provide opportunities for our law enforcement families to interact in a positive safe environment. Where they can continue to create special moments with those they love and have an opportunity to develop family memories. There is healing and hope for the entire family when they attend an event like this.
